What makes duotec analytical sensors unique?

New Sensing for industrial use

Analytical sensing – we give machines senses.

Smelling. Seeing. Understanding. What comes naturally to us humans is only now becoming possible in industry – and that's exactly what we at duotec work on with real passion.

Our E-Nose gives devices a digital sense of smell. A tiny multi-channel chip based on carbon nanotubes detects gases and volatile organic compounds down to the ppb range. AI models compare the resulting odor patterns and turn them into reliable insights – whether it's pre-fire odors, leaks, quality deviations or breath analysis in medical technology.

Our Chip-Size Spectrometer shrinks light analysis to 2.3 × 3.4 mm: 270 spectral and 30 polarization channels covering 400 to 1,000 nm, measurement rates up to 1,000 Hz, fully integrated in CMOS. Conventional optics become obsolete – materials and liquids can be analyzed directly inside the device.

Both share the same principle: highly integrated sensing, industrialized and designed for series production. Analytics that reach places where they were previously unthinkable.

E-Nose: We give machines a sense of smell.

Odors carry information – until now, only humans could read it. With the E-Nose, we're changing that: a tiny multi-channel chip based on carbon nanotubes detects gases and volatile organic compounds down to the ppb range – more sensitive, smaller and more energy-efficient than existing technologies. AI models compare the resulting odor patterns against a growing reference database and turn them into a clear answer in real time.

Whether it's pre-fire odors, gas leaks, quality control or breath analysis in medical technology: the E-Nose detects what no one can see – and stays 100 noses ahead of any sniffer dog.

Together with the deep-tech startup SmartNanotubes Technologies, we're bringing this technology into series production.

Spectrometer: spectral analysis on a single chip.

Light reveals what things are made of – until now, that required laboratory equipment. We've brought spectroscopy onto a chip measuring just 2.3 × 3.4 mm: 270 spectral and 30 polarization channels cover the wavelength range from 400 to 1,000 nm, with measurement rates up to 1,000 Hz at 3.3 V, designed for the industrial temperature range of 0 to 85 °C.

Optical nanostructures, filters and signal processing are integrated directly in CMOS. Conventional optical components become obsolete – and manufacturing costs stay low regardless of the number of channels.

This makes material analysis possible where there was never room for it before: color and substance recognition, liquid analysis, quality assurance or white goods. Analytics built right into the device.
